From the Children's Fair Co-Chairs

To say a simple thank you to people who did so much is very difficult.  Working at the Children's Fair has been something we have both done for many years in different capacities.  However, working as Co-Chairpersons gave us the insight of how each part comes together as a whole.

We were continually impressed with your generosity, and how talented, hardworking, and dedicated each of you truly is.  To name each of you would be impossible and in a way, not necessary, because we are one in Christ: the heart of the Children's Fair.

The success of our fair is because of each and every one of you.  The Lord bestows upon us gifts of talent; thank you for sharing yours.  Realizing the extent of what each of you brings to this event shows us personality and witnesses to the community how much we love one another.  We are honored to be members of the New Ipswich Congregational Church, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You made our job as co-chairpersons a rewarding, and uplifting experience.

In Christ's Service,

Valera and Linda

148th Children's Fair News

August 15, 2009

This year the Fair is on August 15th.  The Ministry Team meeting has taken place, and the chairs are meeting on the second Tuesday of each month.  We have a wonderful group of people ready to make this year's Fair one of the most Blessed and Fun fairs ever!  We are still in need of a Chair person for the Sandwich Shop.  If this area interests you please call Valera (878-4630) or Linda (878-2429).  If you have not signed up to work, please contact one of the Chairpersons listed to volunteer.  Remember, this is a community activity that depends on the generosity and dedication of everyone.

White Elephant:  We are looking for folks to give us a couple of hours or son on Fair day.   Please see Wendy & Bob Grippardi if you can lend a hand.  Our drop off times will again be Tuesday afternoons 12 - 1:00pm, and Thursday evenings 6 - 8:00pm.  You can also give us a call (878-3840) and we will be happy to set up a time for you to drop off your items.  We have permission to use the Old Town Hall starting July 5th.  We appreciate your cooperation in not leaving the items outside of the building.  Due to space restrictions and digital conversions, we will not be able to accept televisions and outdated computer monitors.  We always appreciate knick knacks, artwork, small appliances (working), toys, craft items, pots, pans, dishes, tools and sporting goods.

Ackerson's Auction:  It's time to start to look out for items suitable for the auction.  Things that sell well at the acution are furniture, tools, collectables, any antique item, children's bikes an large toys.

A couple of things to note for this year's auction:

Items on consignment:  This year we will be accepting up to 100 items on consignment.  For these items 60% of the proceeds will go to the Fair and 40% to the consignor.  No more than 10 items will be accepted from one individual on consignment.

Watch the church bulletin and local papers for dates of when you can bring things to the church to be accepted on consignment.

Items to be donated:     If you have items that you just wish to donate to the auction, then please contact us to make arrangements of how to get them to the church.

Please spread the word to friends, family, co-workers, etc that this a good way to pas along unwanted or unneeded possessions and help raise money for the Children's Fair.

Please call us or e-mail us.
