From the Christian Education Ministry Team

June 2010

Children’s Sunday will be the 2nd Sunday in June, June 13th. The children’s classes will be participating in the morning worship service. There will be an all church cookout following the service. We will provide the meat, rolls, condiments and drinks. We are asking the church family to help with desserts and salads.   Last names starting A-K please bring a salad to share. Last names L-Z please bring a dessert to share. This should be a fun time for all.

Save the date! Vacation Bible School will be June 28th - July 2nd at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church from 9:00- Noon. This is a joint effort for our two churches to provide this opportunity for the children of our community. The theme this year is Rockin’ Rainforest and teaching about Christ’s love. It looks like it will be a lot of fun. It is for children Preschool age through 6th grade. If you are able to help provide some of the snacks i.e. cookies, pretzels etc. you can drop them off in Fellowship Hall and we will see that they get over to Our Redeemer to be used during that week. Please also be praying for this important ministry that introduces children and families to our wonderful Lord.

April 2010

Vacation Bible School will be held June 28-July 2 this year.  We are doing VBS as a joint ministry with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.  This year has a tropical rainforest theme with a strong Gospel message.  This is a great ministry to our community and a great opportunity to share your love with the children of our area.  Our first meeting is Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 pm at Our Redeemer.  Come and find out how you can take part in this ministry.  There are many ways, from teaching or helping to providing some of the snacks.  Don't miss this great opportunity to share Jesus' love right here in New Ipswich.

There will be a Sunday School Teachers Meeting after Worship on Sunday, May 2nd in the High School Room.

From the Christian Ed Ministry Team

We had a wonderful VBS once again at the Redeemer Church.  Son Rock Camp was a great success!!!! It is always a pleasure working with them.  Thank you all from our church for helping us.  Betsy T., Andrea W., Amy P., Olga A., the Logan's, the Levesque's, the Cargill's, Sue W., my partner in goodness who stepped up into teacher role, Sandra A., Jane C., who came in right after her trip to Alaska.  You too Marcie L.,- right after camping! Cheryl W., Doug F. I hope I did not forget a person!!! Wow! there were so many people that helped us!  I started to name them and the list was overwhelming!  Thank you all.  It could not have been done without you ALL!!

The summer has past and now I hope you are all looking forward to learning more in our Sunday School classes.  The change this year will be usage of past lessons and material to help "wage the war" against the drop of our funding money.  If you wish to donate some supplies for our classroom, such as pencils, pens, staplers, tape, etc. feel free to give!!  We will be ever so grateful!!  Cell phone #'s will be asked for at registration due to the lack of communication during our little ice storm last year.

On that note...May God's word find a home in your hearts! Mary Broden, Chair

Pastor Peter will lead the high school study group. Please plan on joining us for a time of worship, study and fellowship.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God." Col. 3:16
