Liberators

Mark 3:7-19

February 28, 2010

Question: What in the world does God want from me?

Affirmation: We are the Spirit-filled liberators of humanity, showing God’s love in flesh and blood reality.

His Plan

When they heard all He was doing, many people came to Him from Judea, Jerusalem, Idumea, and the regions across the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon. Because of the crowd He told His disciples to have a small boat ready for Him, to keep the people from crowding Him. For He had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch Him.

Mark 3:8-10

This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.

              1 John 4:9

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

Colossians 2:9-10

Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of His Body, which is the church Colossians 1:24

Our Part

When he (John the Baptist) saw Jesus passing by, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God!" When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, "What do you want?" They said, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?" "Come," he replied, "and you will see."

John 1:36-39

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

              Matthew 28:19-20

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Acts 1:8

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.

1 John 4:15

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

His Part

It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

1 Corinthians 12:7

Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to Him those He wanted, and they came to Him. He appointed twelve--designating them apostles --that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.

Mark 3:13-15

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

1 Peter 4:10

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Ephesians 4:15-16

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Real Rest

Mark 2:23-3:6

February 21, 2010

Question: Why is being a good Christian so exhausting?

Affirmation: Never let your religion wreck your rest in Christ.

Wrecked Rest

By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done.

Genesis 2:2-3

"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Exodus 20:8-11

"Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do. Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.

Deuteronomy 5:12-15

"Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest and the slave born in your household, and the alien as well, may be refreshed.

Exodus 23:12

The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?"

Mark 2:24

Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched Him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.

Mark 3:2

David replied, "Indeed women have been kept from us, as usual whenever I set out. The men's things are holy even on missions that are not holy. How much more so today!"

1 Samuel 21:5

Then Jesus asked them, "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?" But they remained silent.

Mark 3:4

Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

Mark 2:27

Redeemed Rest

And looking around at them with anger and sorrow at their obstinate stupidity, He said to the man, "Stretch out your arm." He stretched it out, and his arm was restored.

Mark 3:5 NEB

For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:20

So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

Mark 2:28

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen; will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Matthew 5:17-18

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Colossians 2:13-15

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Colossians 2:16-17

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Matthew 11:28-30

Real Rest

It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience. Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts."

Hebrews 4:6-7

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.

Hebrews 4:9-11

Requirements

Mark 2:13-22

February 14, 2010

Question: Aren’t all religions about being good?

Affirmation: If we look at who Jesus recruits we see beyond religion to relationship.

Recruits

That according to the strictest sect of our religion, I lived as a Pharisee.

Acts 26:5

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

1 Samuel 16:7

"Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

Matthew 16:6

As He walked along, He saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him. Mark 2:14

While Jesus was having dinner at Levi's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" were eating with Him and His disciples, for there were many who followed him.

Mark 2:15

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: `God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, `God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. Luke 18:9-14

Relationships

Now John's disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. Some people came and asked Jesus, "How is it that John's disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but Yours are not?"

Mark 2:18

I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'

Luke 18:12

He (John the Baptist) went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. Luke 3:3

Jesus answered, "How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while He is with them? They cannot, so long as they have Him with them.

Mark 2:19

However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Luke 10:20

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Philippians 4:4-5

Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready.

Revelation 19:7

Reason

"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. If he does, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, he pours new wine into new wineskins."

Mark 2:21-22

"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

Matthew 23:2-3

All our righteous acts are like filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6

Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

2 Timothy 3:5

For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:20

"The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

Jeremiah 31:31

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Ceiling Unlimited"

Mark 2:1-12

February 7, 2010

Question: What do I do when I realize "I can’t help myself?

Affirmation: Admitting you’re unable is the first step toward discovering the unlimited power of Jesus Christ.

Unable

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

Romans 7:24

A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that He had come home. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and He preached the word to them.

Mark 2:1-2

Some men came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.

Mark 2:3-4

Should not your piety be your confidence and your blameless ways your hope? "Consider now: Who, being innocent, has ever perished? Where were the upright ever destroyed? As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it.

Job 4:6-8

As He went along, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

John 9:1-5

Unlimited

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Mark 2:5

Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

Mark 2:6-7

Immediately Jesus knew in His spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and He said to them, "Why are you thinking these things? Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, `Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, `Get up, take your mat and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic, "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."

Mark 2:8-11

One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, He asked him, "Do you want to get well?"

John 5:5-6

"I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."

Mark 2:11

He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

Mark 2:12

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Romans 7:24-25

"Love in Christ"

Colossians 3:12-17

February 22, 2009

Why should I bother with church?

Church is where the people of God learn to love each other in Christ.

What?

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved,

Colossians 3:12a

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

I Peter 2:9

Colossians 3:12b

And put on the new self which is being renewed in the knowledge of the Creator.

Colossians 3:10

Colossians 3:13a

Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.

II Timothy 4:11

Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Colossians 3:13b

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:12 KJV

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in unity.

Colossians 3:14

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.

John 13:34-35

How?

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called in to peace.

Colossians 3:15a

Peace, I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

And be thankful.

Colossians 3:15b

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! …. with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and Spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Colossians 3:16

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17

Where the Heart Is
Colossians 3:1-11
February 15, 2009

How are we supposed to live like Christians?

First by being who you are, then knowing where you’re headed and then letting go of what no longer fits.

Who you are

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:1 NASB

You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Galatians 3:26-27

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:6-7

For you died to this life, and your real life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:3 NLT

Where you’re headed

Your real life is Christ and when He appears, then you too will appear with Him and share His glory.

Colossians 3:4 TEV

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2

Set you minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Colossians 3:2

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

Letting go

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to the earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.

Colossians 3:5-7

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

I Corinthians 13:11

Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation – but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Romans 8:12-14

Do not lie to one another, for you have put off the old self with its habits and have put on the new self. This is the new being which God, its Creator, is constantly renewing in His image, in order to bring you to a full knowledge of Himself.

Colossians 3:9-10 TEV

Every Day’s a Holiday

Colossians 2:16-23

February 8, 2009

You Christians are just a bunch of Legalists.

Legalism has nothing to do with being a Christian.

Shadow Boxing

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to religious festivals, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality however is found in Christ.

Colossians 2:16-17

And whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on Sabbaths and at New Moon festivals and appointed feasts. They were to serve before the LORD regularly in the proper number and in the way prescribed for them.

I Chronicles 23:31

There remains then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example.

Hebrews 4:9-11

The Law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming – not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

Hebrews 10:1

The High Priest of a New Covenant

1The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.

3Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. 4If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already men who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."[a] 6But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises.

7For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8But God found fault with the people and said[b]:
"The time is coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
   with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.
9It will not be like the covenant
      I made with their forefathers
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.
10This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
   I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,'
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more."[c]

13By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

Hebrews 8

I know that these regulations look wise with their self inspired efforts at worship, their policy of self-humbling, and their studied neglect of the body. But in actual practice they do honor, not to God, but to man’s own pride.

Colossians 2:23 J.B. Phillips

The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: "God, I thank you that I am not like other men – robbers, evildoers, adulterers, - or even this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get." But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said "God, have mercy on me, a sinner." I tell you that this man, rather than the other went home justified before God.

Luke 18:11-14

A cold self-righteous prig, who goes regularly to Church, may be far nearer to hell than a prostitute. But, of course it is better to be neither.

C.S. Lewis "Christian Behavior" 1943

Real Righteousness

He has lost his connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belong to it, do you submit to its rules?

Colossians 2:19-20

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:1

So I say live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Galatians 5:16

Therefore God set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later He spoke through David, as was said before: "Today when you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.

Hebrews 4:7

"Nailed It!"

Colossians 2:6-15

February 1, 2009

Why do I fail so often when I try to be a "good" Christian?

It is not ourselves, but Christ who transforms us.

Self-righteous

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than Christ.

Colossians 2:8

Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack value in restraining sensual indulgence.

Colossians 2:23

There was a deep, black, wordless conviction in him that the way to avoid Jesus was to avoid sin.

Flannery O’Connor "Wise Blood"

For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the Law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:20

Circumcise your hearts, and do not be stiffed necked any longer.

Deuteronomy 10:16

Christ-righteousness

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Colossians 2:6-7

Having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross.

Colossians 2:14

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of the pen will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Matthew 5:17-18

Having received the wine, He said, "It is accomplished!" He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

John 19:30 NEB

For what the Law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:3-4

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.

Colossians 2:9

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Colossians 2:15

Sermon Outline
Recapping the Journey
Preached by Stuart Nutter

Acts 20:17-32                                                                                    February 17, 2008

Purpose: War all on a spiritual journey.  What follows is a summary of the nature of that journey based on the sermons preached here during the past sixteen months.

  1. This is a journey from Head to Heart
The search for ultimate reality is a journey from head to heart.  In Biblical terms, the heart may be defined as the seat of all thought, emotions and will.                                        Ephesians 4: 17-18
                                                                                                                                    Romans 1:20-25

  2. This is a journey from Human Wisdom to CHRIST
Every believer is on a journey from the presuppositions of man to God's truth.  All our thoughts are conditioned by the culture within which we acquire language, educated and nurture.
                                                                                                                                    Colossians 2:8-9

  3. This is a journey from Knowledge to Experience
The Christian believer is on a constant journey from that which is known to that which is experienced.  Knowing all the stories and doctrines of the Bible is not the same as actually experiencing God's presence through the Holy Spirit.                                       2 Corinthians 3:17-18

     4.  This is a journey from Congregation to Church
The challenge of every congregation is to move from being an organization to being the Body of
Christ.  The church is more than an organization; the church is an organism made up of living
cells, each containing the same spiritual DNA.                                                Acts 1:14, 2:1-2, 43ff

I will submit to our new minister, upholding him in prayer as he seeks
to equip me for the ministry the Lord has given to me.                                                       Eph 4:11-12

I am committed to seeking a deeper relationship with God in Christ
as I speak the truth in love and work towards the spiritual advancement of this church. Eph 3:13-16

II Corinthians 3:16-18                                                                        February 4, 2008

Problem: To often the biggest problem our friends have, in coming to Christ, is Christians.
Answer: As we focus on Jesus, others see Christ progressively more clearly in us.

First: We must turn and focus on Jesus.                                            Philippians 3:13-14
                                                                                                                Hebrews 12:2

Second: We must allow God to remove our "veil".                           Exodus 34:34-35
                                                                                                                II Corinthians 3:17

Third: We must "reflect" on Christ.                                                      II Corinthians 3:18
                                                                                                                Romans 12:2

Fourth: We then can "reflect" Christ to our world.                              Isaiah 60:2-3
